Decline of an Empire

By Iron Curtain on Nov 23, 2010 1:14 am

This is the last track I made for my LSDJ-made album, Saturday Thirst. The music for this track was perhaps influenced from a stage in Battle Arena Toshinden 2. For all those  out there, this is made in the key of C-pentatonic. Staying within that box helped immensely with my songwriting.

Thanks for the constructive criticism/commentary, Fluidvolt! I'll take it into consideration. And when I said "key of C-pentatonic", I meant I made it using the Pentatonic scale for the key of C.

Not bad, although there's no such key as C pentatonic, it's either major or minor tongue The pentatonic scales used give a nice oriental feel to the piece. My main gripe is that it's quite repetitive. I really liked the tiny section that starts around 1:24; If you extended it it would give a nice break from the main hook/progression, which is what I think this piece needs. Good job though.
