Version 1.4 released: http://kkfos.aspekt.fi/projects/nes/tools/pornotracker/

This version also includes a new 6502 playback library, called MUSE.

Changes:

- MUSE (6502 playback library for games and demos)
- Linear frequency handling (note slide speed and vibrato is not dependent on the note frequency anymore)
- Glissando
- Max. channel volume was changed from 15 to 63
- Modifier keys don't hang when using Alt+Tab to switch windows (SDL fix)
- Support for display drivers that don’t support non-power-of-two textures
- Fix to copy/pasting from the triangle channel
- Fixed (bad!) bugs in autodelay
- Volume envelope ending in 0 with loop is now considered a note off
- Fixed note slides/etc in the example songs
- Various other bugfixes

Hey!  I finally got around to trying this out!  Awesome tracker, I haven't really gotten around to everything but I'm digging the sounds it can make.  Very fond of the PCM Saw and Pulse!  I was messing with the instrument editor today and came up with something for WeeklyBeats with it.  (Absolutely no compositional thought/direction here...)  Just some nice sounds.

Generally I prefer mml, but Musetracker/Pornotracker is a really solid tool that more people should use.

I definitely agree with you on this! MuseTracker is the only PCM baste NES tracker that has compatibility with a tun of NSF players, VirtuaNSF, VirtuaNES, NSFLive, SlickNSF (however NSFs play a little slower than their intended refresh rate) NEZplay Etc, and it does a pretty good job, the NSF exporter is vary stable and handles the code vary well, and it seems to do a much better job than in DefleMask. It is definitely worth a go.

I'm late to the party on this.  Really neat project... and you can get 7bit samples out of the NES?  How does this work?  confuse mode.

Nice! I like how well the plain 2A03 stuff fuses with the PCM stuff in your songs.

How do we feel about MML export and/or import?  If the instrument parameters can already be copied to the clipboard, it's not a stretch to copy them to an instruments include file then copy the notes/effects separated by channel.  You'll need a moderately rigid structure to allow importing, but it's not too difficult to clean up the code on the user end.  Would allow collaboration between artists who do and do not use MML.

well it hasnt been updated for over 3 years and no one uses either musetracker or mml anyway but good luck *thumbsup*

DefleMask's NSFs are fully compatible with the NES; so, in fact, those NSF players that you mention are not fully accurate, rather than DefleMask being not compatible. The technic used by DefleMask to do 7bit samples is discussed here @ nesdev.
I recommend only NSFPlay by rainwarrior, it was updated to support DefleMask's NSF a year ago.

Btw, DefleMask has the advantage of multi sampling rates @ 7bit samples (4000hz, 8000hz, 11025hz, 16000hz, 22050hz, 32000hz!!!), in Muse you are forced to use 8000hz. You can get better samples in the NES than 8000hz as DefleMask proved.
