Joypad, the pixellated minds behind Super Warehouse Gaming Party and Video Game Democracy, bring you JoyJam: a brand new micro-expo for all things gaming.

Taking place in London’s iconic Royal Exchange, with an entrance fee of precisely £0, JoyJam is the perfect place to collaborate, learn, play or just hang and drink - whether you’re Joe Bloggs or Gabe Newell.

Talks & Panels
“How to make game soundtracks that aren’t dull as shit” by Paul Kilduff-Taylor (director at Mode7 Games)
Insights and Q&A on the world of Games Design Education with Chris Cox (lecturer in Games Design at London Brunel University)
and much more tba...

Retro & Indie gaming
Joypad’s famous ‘Joy Pods’ will be out in force. Letting you grab a beer and drift back to those halcyon days of blue hedgehogs and Italian plumbers. A selection of pre-release indie titles will also be playable on the JoyJam floor.
If you have a game that you’d like to share with the JoyJam community you will find space to set up and get some free testing and feedback - games/prototypes at all stages welcome!

Table top gaming
James Wallis (GameCamp/Southbank University/Spaaace) will be hosting our dedicated table top room and guiding you through the cornucopia of incredible experiences to be had when gaming in the physical world.
If you have a game that you’ve always wanted to play or a prototype to try out - bring it along and round up some players!

Hack space / Asset Exchange
Bring your prototypes, early builds, DAWs, design ideas, custom controllers, tablets, laptops, mics… The JoyJam Asset Exchange aims to play cupid to all budding devs and asset creators. Let’s get it on!

Music
As if that wasn’t enough: chip renaissance man, Sam Wray (aka 2xAA), will be playing us out with a live chiptune set at the end of the evening.

Drinks
Joypad will be operating a fully stocked (cash only) bar for those who require some social lubricant, no outside drinks are allowed at the event.
