They specifically say it runs with both 1.44 and 720. Twice as expensive though. Will post if it works when it arrives.

Didn't work. Exactly the same results ¬¬

Fuck it, I'll look for an old Toshiba drive then.
Wish it wasn't the 3rd one I had to buy haha.

sorry to hear that, i hope you will get it to work in the end.

i could not remember, if the last time i try was under XP, so i just had a go under win 8.1, and it work just fine.
remember that the file you copy, have to be 8.1 named,
so no small letters, no spaces in the name, no weird char and only 8 chars, or the ST will fu.k up.

I ended up getting the Toshiba model you're using. I'm still having problems formatting 1.44s and it can't read my old 720s.

I'm convinced it isn't the driver that's the problem anymore so I wondered what exactly your process of running something on your atari is. How you transfer the files / format the floppy and such.

hi
i am sorry that it don't work for you,

if i what to make sure that it work,
then i first i put sticky tape over high density hole,
i format it on the ST, and transfere the file from the pc to the Floppy.

make sure that the files are made under the 8.3 file naming or else the ST F..k up when you try to open it.

good luck and i hope that you get it to work.

btw i don't have any problems reading 720k-144h disks, try using an other computer to see if than could help.

I FUCKEN GOT IT. You have no idea how happy I am haha.

For some reason when I updated to windows 10 yesterday the "FORMAT A: /T:80 /N:9" process worked perfectly. I have no idea why, but hey. Time to make some sweet sweet jams.

Thanks so much for the help yall.

Good to hear that USB floppy is better supported in Windows 10. Thanks Microsoft!

Nope, still doesn't work, which makes this whole thing pretty strange. I tested different kinds of floppies too but got the same results.

Yeah my floppies finally work but my Waves compressor plug-ins don't. I find this pretty hilarious.

no that is not strange it is because the drev does not support 720kb disk.

i have made 720kb disk under XP, win 8, win8.1. but sometimes windows just work like crap and need a reinstall.

i would not bet on it, its a Chinese Floppy disk, its look like that you are in Germany due to Amazon.de,
i can see there is some IBM floppy disk on ebay, i would rather try an Ibm floppy instead of a Chinese Floppy disk, but i can't promise that it works.

First of all, thanks for your reply and your links smile

I give that Chinese a try as I found one for 6 € and then I give a feedback here. I want to use it for making Atari Cubase disks. I live in Germany, that’s why I used Amazon.de big_smile
