I was listening to Nestek and Outra last night and was reminded of just how amazing his (?) work is. I remember that he somehow got himself banned from the Chiptune Collective when that was a thing. His website is also down, and he hasn't released new music since Baud of Passion (?). Anyone know where he is and if he's still doing musical things?

last i'd heard he was doing some modular synth stuff, presumably under a different artist name, but that was maybe 6-7 years ago

he flaked out on so many people who paid for midines and never got it that i doubt anyone will ever see him around these chip spots again...google 'midines scam' and you will find a bunch of articles. the dude became a ghost around 2012 or so im thinking.

This was the last substantial post I've seen from him: http://chipmusic.org/forums/post/92232/#p92232

He also linked to this website, is this him? http://chriskann.com/index.html

that looks nice, too bad it'd be almost impossible to trust the situation enough to order one without an intermediary like ebay involved

Whoa, okay, wow. So, is his thing with not getting the midiNES to people the reason he was banned from 8bc?

FWIW, I actually quite like his synthpop stuff: http://synthrecords.bandcamp.com/album/ … it-tonight

Yeah, last I heard of him was Data Twins. Such a shame. He was a sublime chip talent. His self-titled album is INSANE. I asked Josh (Bit Shifter) where he was these days once and he said he just did a vanishing act. Obviously the midiNES thing had a lot to do with it...

By the way, I think all the midiNES sound demos are still up on his old site if you're looking to hear something by him you might not have heard before: http://wayfar.net/0xf00000_examples.php

It would be a great release if the lyrics wouldn't be so horribly generic.
