i was under the impression that LSDJ didn't play nice with other game sav's anyways? how are you able to put LSDJ on side A and have another sav for the ROM on side B? although I thought something like tetris would work because it doesn't use a sav?

glad it works for you - sorry there is no multi-rom support yet, although the developer is working on it

I am trying to wrap my head around the fact that pu1 and pu2 do not seem to be created equal, in that one cant do certain effects, right?

right, only channel 1 can do a frequency sweep, and only channel 2 can adjust tuning. The other fine tuning adjusts PU1 up and PU2 down simultaneously which makes a cool chorus-kind-of effect when they play the same note.

you got quite a groove going! it would be cool to hear a bit of variation in the patterns with the pulse channels, don't be afraid to break up the groove, throw in a little surprise here and there. also, after you've introduced the basic groove and chord progression, don't be afraid to deviate from that. the listener will be familiar with your basic theme and you're free to drop one of the parts to showcase something new. you also have a lot of options at your disposal to vary the sound with pulse channels as far as attack/decay/sustain/release, vibrato (don't be afraid to use a V command with value F4 or something like that), pitch bends, and duty cycles. also the noise channel could be used a lot more. if you throw some of the percussion to the noise channel (and even the pulse channels), you can free up the wav channel for the cool synth sounds. so i'd recommend learning how to make wav kicks and pulse toms so you can use some wav bass! hope this helps, keep up the great work!

try using ems-qart

awesome! glad it worked out

have you thought about using Famitracker instead and just importing the MIDI into it? granted you won't have a wav channel but it might be fairly close

Ok so there obviously aren't any super solid demos out there right now so I whipped this up to get a feel for it.

call me stupid for not ordering one, this sounds amazing!! i do have a dumb question though, will it ever be possible to add the usual gameboy sound channels to get all 7 out of one gameboy?

Yeah that sounds more like a chord. I was actually referring to this, which I assume would have been invented earlier, but can't find when it was first used (all except the European version): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ringing_tone

Btw, those type of sounds were trying to replicate a telephone? After hearing so many effects I really do think now that the first ultra fast arpeggio in the history was from an actual telephone. The default ringtone of every phone is a ultra fast arpeggio.

I wonder what year the ringback tone was invented? it's an oscillation between 440hz and 480hz (A4 and about a quarter tone between A#4 and B4), though it doesn't exactly sound like it's trying to imitate any kind of chord

that does sound like a software issue. the lowest note is definitely 36 on the pulse channels (lowest note of wav channel is 24), but the highest note should exceed MIDI note 127. LSDJ is capable of playing up to note 143 (B11) in pulse and 131 (B10) in wav.

you're right it only has room for one .sav. I was referring to  Mottzilla's multi-rom software + menu which stores a bunch of smaller sav's into one sav. even if you change out the roms, the savs will remain unless you clear out the space for more savs. but afaik there's no way to extract each individual game sav from the multi-rom sav. hope this makes sense

regardless, the multi-rom functionality doesn't work with LSDJ, because LSDJ uses up all the sav space.

sounds like it's for LSDJ only, in which case ems-qart is a good option

multi-rom sav's contain the sav data for all the games on the cart, afaik there's no easy way to get the sav for just one rom

sorry for the necro-bump, didn't want to start a new thread for this one stupid question:

I have an external post-pot pro-sound jack. do I need to remove caps on the board before adding the  4.7uF caps? katsumbhong's tutorial shows pre-pot only, and doesn't mention removing any caps, so if so, which caps do I need to remove?
