CS, I remember you mentioned you'd be pretty busy with the move, so just PM me your address so I can send you the Genesis and we'll call it a day.

It's ready to be mailed out, just needs a destination!  smile

Hey, I have a Model 2 Genesis (NTSC) that I recently refurbished. It's just sitting around in my apartment, chilling.

If you need it to work for PAL region, I can put a switch in it at my job before I mail it for you.

It has original cables, controllers, and whathaveyou. I bought it at MagFest, since it wasn't reading carts (needed a pin alignment). Runs good as new.

Do you want it? Just pay shipping, and I'll mail it to you.

If so, just hit me up (preferably by email).

Regards,
Daria

Would you mind posting a picture of either of those LSDJ carts? I'm interested in one if they are genuine BleepBloop carts.

Piece of history, man.

how do you make "fakebit" without a daw?

You really can't. You've got only two options:

1. Plug in a VST / bitcrusher, and create stuff that way...
or
2. Sample from other consoles/machines, and arrange your samples that way.

Only other way I could figure is if you get a sample collection and a mixer + turntable, and record your tracks live without using a DAW.

You'll still need some way to arrange your samples or some kind of workstation to arrange your tracks, unless you just pull an Animal Style, and make some beast machine, and wire a guitar into an 8-bit stepper or whatever and just record and downmix to cassette tapes or into Audacity (which is still a DAW).

Hell, I'll throw down for that white one immediately. PM me with a monetary amount, and I'll pay tomorrow.

I see. I'll wait for your response here after you get the Xchanger and see what all can be done with it.

Thanks for all your awesome help.

Do you know off hand if the EMS Transferer II works with this cart, Nitro?

lol, edited

Rad, thanks! I was thinking more along the lines of a pokemon rom, though, if that's even possible...

Well, I think the closest you are going to get is only being able to flash one ROM at a time to the cart (first bank only), especially since there currently is no way to access the other parts of the flash storage on the cart, unless you somehow come across an official cart programming station.

I took the device apart, and there are 3 ICs. I'd have to do some research and find out how these chips are set up, but I'm going to assume one chip contains all 7 areas of programmable flash.

It might be up to a skilled dev to figure out how the chip is set up, and how to access said areas to read/write from them.

Nitro, hit me up if you want to borrow my cart so you can take a look at it.
