Anyone know of any good pushbuttons that have the press/depress action of a joypad? All I can find are arcade style buttons which are far too deep and large for my project.

Buy one of these and get a cheap usb midi keyboard:

Although for the price you might just consider a cheapo casio keyboard with a good squarewave sound and just play a melody with that.
