As far as new instruments, I got an accordion recently! Thing's way harder to learn than it seems.

+1 I had one, and it was pretty tough. Sounded awesome, but was also so LOUD that I ended up never playing it.

Any plan on releasing physical records , mate? Id love to grab one

Cheers! That's appreciated. I'd love to do a limited vinyl release at some point, but every time I've looked into doing it the cost has been too large unless there was a fairly big demand. The smallest, cheapest run I could find was 100 12" for 1000 odd quid sad

New one up today...

The Oniric delay from Paradox Effects in Mexico, being played with LSDJ, and a musical saw. Weird and spacey.

sounds to me like your cable may be the problem! That or the link ports on your gbs are a bit damaged.

I was afraid that it might be the cable. It wasn't cheap! Ugh.

Lately I've been having problems trying to synch up two DMGs using a link cable.

I stick the cartridges in, power them on one by one, with the cable attached, load up the song on each, set the Master and Slave to the appropriate Gameboys, mute the channels on each I don't want to play... hit start on the Slave, Start on the Master, and... the Slave doesn't respond.

It works sporadically, but more often than not I've hit the same problem. Is there something daft I'm missing that's causing them not to synch?

Alright! I guess those "temporary" freezes you were talking about are unrelated to this however, so let me know if you run into any of those again.

Will do!

irrlichtproject wrote:

Ok, so I found and eliminated one critical bug that was freezing/crashing HT2 when pressing ALPHA,) (mute all channels). unexpectedbowtie, could it be that that's what caused that last crash in your case?

In any case, if anybody wants to upgrade, just grab the latest builds directly from the github repo. Or just stay away from the "mute all" function big_smile

I think that may well have been the problem! I'm going to upgrade now.

Thanks a lot man!

About my fannying about with Gameboys. I probably sound like a bit of a tit, but that's alright. Hearing your own voice on tape is always weird. The video itself is pretty cool though:

Next stop: fame and riches, right?!

Released an album today that is completely written on LSDJ, but then layered up with different elements controlled over MIDI - like lead lines on a C64, bass on the Volca Bass etc.

Some tracks are pure instrumental, but a fair few have vocals on there (ambient at times) for the fans of chipmusic with vox.

Details here: https://unexpectedbowtie.com/2016/03/27 … sed-today/
Album link here: https://bowtie.bandcamp.com/album/drouth

If you're looking for just a preview track or two, check out the following (all with vox):

Thanks, the TherapSID look interesting, but does the PWM  works in this unit? TBH I'd prefer a Midibox or a Sammich.

I understand that it does. I only mentioned the TherapSID because I thought I saw it in the post title... but it seems to be gone!

Keep an eye on the Twisted Electrons site. There were 2 in stock today, and I managed to grab one of them:

Looks like they're adding a few every so often.

hey I just got a TI-83 & the battery contacts are totally messed up and batteries wont work on it but I was wondering if I put new "back up" batteries in it in the slot above where u put the AA's if it will still work.

If I'm not mistaken, the backup batteries only hold charge for a limited period of time to allow you to swap out the AAs without losing what's stored in RAM - so it wouldn't let you use HT in a meaningful way.

irrlichtproject wrote:

So, could you tell me a bit more about those situations where HT freezes up?

I can't remember exactly what happened the past few times before it froze up, but I'll re-flash and keep an eye out for when it happens again and write down what I was doing so I can report back. Might take a wee bit, but thank you smile

Oh, p.s. I I posted up a video yesterday of HoustonTracker drums going through a fancy effects pedal if you are interested (it's later on in the video on this page: http://noisepedals.com/2016/03/17/mwfx- … l-review/)
