Hi all,
I just get my PowerMac G4 back to life :-). Anyone uses this machine to produce music? I need help, cause i've used it mostly for DTP. I've been searching many pages, found this one: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/playerpro-5

The standard answers are old versions of Renoise, Reason and also ReBirth, even this is not for chip music as much as acid and techno etc. And MilkyTracker of course.

I have Reason and ReBirth, 'gonna test it.
But on Renoise webpage (i'm using it on a PC, so we'll be happy if i can get it on Mac) it stands that all versions (including earliest one) requires MacOS X. I have 9.2...

Yes, indeed. Today i'll try to install 1.4 Tiger from cd's. Anyone knows which version of Renoise we'll be best running on 1GB/512 mHz processor?

i think 2.6. i run it on a similar spec mac machine. but id reccomend try 2.8 first and go down to the version that runs nicely, depending on what you want to do in renoise.

Sitting now on my PowerMacG4, on OSX Tiger, online smile Renoise 2.6 works fine, thank you, Domu. I've tried 2.8, but it lags awfully...

May i ask if PlayerPro can handle VST plugins? Tried to run one of SID VST in Renoise, but i have not enough powered CPU hmm
