                2011,
            new year,
                new compos.

            this one starts
                with a gong.

            something more
                challenging:

            one sample

            per
                song.

http://hexawe.net/compos/one/

deadline: january 25th

you may use one sample for your submission
sample must be chosen from the samplepack.
no more, no less.

the samples in the pack may not be altered
your final mp3 may contain light mastering
- no effects such as reverb, delay etc.

see rules in pack for tagging info and where to submit your track

A OHC OR 24HC TURNAROUND IS ENCOURAGED

OHC/24H style encouraged only to say ... doesn't matter when you heard about this compo, just bust something out and the only losers are those who don't submit smile

Please specify more about this.
If I take a sample and offset it, wouldn't I be altering it? You mean changing the actual file?

PS: pack downloaded and waiting to be transferred to Caanoo.

OK, I copy/pasted those rules.  Here's the B.Leo wording:

Toss that folder into LGPT aka piggytracker.  Commit yourself to ONE sample in the pack, delete the rest.  Using only the magical powers of the pig, make some instruments using only that ONE sample as the sound source.  Lots can be done.  After the song is recorded/rendered, you may very gently master the final mix.

Here's a song I made a few years back that used only a Casio sk-1 kick as the sound source:

I really had no idea what I was doing at the time, but I tweaked and tweaked until I got some sweet sounds!

And in case you didn't know, the wiki is your friend:

Final rule: DON'T PUSS OUT!
