People who start flamewars like to indulge in them, so they never use the ignore function. The most effective method to get rid of them are hell-bans. I wouldn't mind implementation of either, but I don't care that much.

Hmm, like the 'logo' and strikeout text, this is isn't needed.
The Ignore function can be helpful, and on most boards that have the Ignore option, you can always click a little icon on the corner if you want to view the post.
Can't people just learn to be social and not a*******?
I'm not in favor of an ignore button.
