Is there a London chiptune scene at all? I know gwEm and Saberpulse are from around here but there doesn't seem to be much activity to my knowledge.
Is there any artists / gigs / regular nights in London that you guys know of?
Also if I was to convince my local (The Selkirk in Tooting, SW17) to put on a monthly chiptune show would anyone want to play?

A few of us meet up from time to time, nothing regular though, gwEm came to a gig of mine last week and I saw deus, centimental and matt nida at another one a month ago. I had to say no to a gig in london tonight as well 
If you organised a show, I'd be up for playing, I'm sure the others would too 
If it's on a Fri/Sat and I could kip over somewhere, I'd be down for watching/playing LDN gigs!
Yep d0us and I are in London, mostly doing noise stuff recently but yeah things happen occasionally, don't know if there's much of a 'scene'. We did a couple of HATEBIT nights and hopefully more in future, in a futile attempt to start a chipnoise scene

I've been playing Gameboy stuff in my noise sets a bit and also at this regular Drowned in Sound forum-related open mic night, seems to go down well.
Kudos on Hatebit events. I would go if I lived in London, or if I wasn't on the opposite coast. 
If I could get down, I totally would. Despite there being a fair few artists round Newcastle, there is no gigs anymore :c We were gonna organise something to link into a digital festival that Gateshead is putting on, but the venue turned us down (the only venue in Gateshead...) </3

Awesome I'll have a butch to see what venues are up for it and hopefully be able to organise something, @calmdownkidder I'll try and get it on a Saturday if I can, Friday would probably be a long shot as most pubs will have their own entertainment that night.
I'll keep you all posted on this, in the mean time anyone up for a meetup in town sometime?

There'd be no problem getting artists to play...the London chipmusic scene was one of the very first and best in the world (the old Micromusic HQ put regular shows on at the Asylum and one offs at places like the ICA to some acclaim), recently people have just had other things to work on and not really been able to commit to a direction, I think.
edit - I've done London chipmusic meetups before and I certainly would again!

Yeah, I say go for it, would be nice to do something in London other than get mugged between agonizing over which trendy upmarket cafe I go to and not being able to find any record stores.
Totally seriously though, start small, build a following, be regular, make a nice near little site, promote, allow for making a loss and don't be disappointed with only a few people showing up in the early stages. London has no shortage of talent.

Alternate thought: As a "super-famous american chiptune rockstar", I have no problem sending some emails to clubs and attempting to put something together for when we're there, but I would totally need some local peeps to help. Interest? Thoughts? STFU?

About £20 a night
Cost for entry would be either FREE or something like £2-3, owners will most probably give this out to hire for free.
Drinks are like £2 a can inside the bar
Start time would be round 10pm and finish around 4AM although owner is known to do lock ins until the early morning.
Walk to the hostel is around 10 minutes down greenwich highstreet which is essentially one long road.
Hostel would cost no more than £20 per head, cheaper if buying a dorm as a group.
Bar has loads of shops surrounding making easy access to smokes/alcohol/food
Bar also has a smoking garden which the owners will let you smoke special herb if you are a friendly person (rasta owners)
Near transport includes

North Greenwich Tube Station which is about a 15-20 min walk (right outside the o2 millennium dome)
