but you'll also need a 4017.
instructables.com has 7 pages of 555 timer projects...
but the classic is the atari punk console, right?
Build that, But make every fixed resistor a potentiometer.. then you'll have some fun.
Also, experiment with capacitor values.

you can also add an LFO using a 555 timer, like add an LFO to your APC, but it could also work with bent toys I guess...
