I'm curious of stories of people dabbling with time signatures like 5/4 or polyrhythms on lsdj.
I once did a poly song in 4/3 and 3/2.

Examples'd be nice too. I might upload it today.

there's a lot of 7/4 or 7/8 on my album.

Anyway though, this song of mine is in 13/8, and the bridge of this song switches between 6/8 and 4/4.

Yes, yes it is. Just think about it.

Lsdj works great for polyrhythms. I've done 7/8 over 4s, 5/4 over 3s, 3/4 over 4s, etc. You can use the h command, or try setting up an arp in an odd time on the table combined with the g and h command to get a polyrhythm in a single channel.

This one is mostly made of 5s, but there are a good amount of meter changes in the intro.

I made a 5/4 dance tune awhile back. You can hear it here:

Did pretty well, I'd say... Made it onto the new Homestuck album, haha.

I fell in love with 5/4 after I wrote an orchestral song in it. It took a while for my brain to actively think in it. You did some cool stuff with it.

Here's the song I was talking about in the topic post:

In the description I said 4/3 and 3/4, when it is in fact 3/2. It's poly in parts. Mostly during the theme, which was a pain to write on piano.
4/3 is my favorite though.

Do you mean 4 over 3? like "4:3"?

4/3 implies that it's a time signature, which */3 doesn't exist.

I'll take a listen to the jam when I get home tonight and see what you mean! smile

Actually, I just listened on my phone. Believe it or not, I think most of the song is actually all just a swung 4/4. You can tell by the beat accents. Except for patterns like the intro, where a 6/8 groove is implied with groups of 3:2. But yeah, my cards are in it being strictly 4/4 (swung, 6/8 feel) with an occasional 3:2 grouping.

Whatever time signature, it's a beautiful song and I liked it a lot!

Time To Get Obscure - Compilation for weird time signatures

This is a compilation frmo 2009. There's no official page for it anything like that I think. There used to be a discussion about it on some other site, but then said site accidentally the whole thing or something like that.
