Ok, maybe 4. Contact HKEMS and make them write Linux driver. Highly unlikely to ever work, since they don't even seem to understand English properly.

You do know that not everyone on this planet has english as their first language. Write to them in chinese instead tongue

I'm sure EMS's English is better than Arfink's Chinese, though...

You got that right. smile I was being sarcastic, BTW. If I knew Chinese I would probably not be so flippant. My apologies to EMS.

Back on topic: good work! I'll have to try this out.

as well as this all working, (thanks, and awesome work!!) i did also finally get the virtual machine working in virtualbox:

a runthrough of what i did to get it working

1. install a VM of Windows XP (SP3)
2. install Virtualbox Extention pack
3. boot into XP (SP3).
4. in the menus:   Devices >> install guest additions
5. once they're installed, reboot the VM.
6. transfer the driver files onto the VM (through whatever method you like)
7.connect the usb cart
8. dismiss the new hardware wizard in the host OS
9. in the menus:   devices >> usb devices >> uknown device
10. new hardware connection wizard should appear.
11. direct the new hardware wizard to install the driver files from their location.
12. use the cart flashing program as normal smile

hope this helps someone

Just wanted to let you guys know that I've released EMS flasher 0.02, which has a bunch of improved features. Grab the source

This is the first release to officially support Mac OS X. Mac OS 10.6 binaries should be posted within 24 hours.

  • improved command line options

  • ability to dump ROM from cart

  • read title from ROM on cart

  • very early stages of libems

The next major release will feature save RAM dumping/writing as well. I'm also quickly moving in the direction of being able to write a GUI.

Let there be no mistake. This is beautiful/elegant/awesome as fuck.

Right, so. I've patched up [mikeryan]'s code to allow page selection when writing/reading for 64M EMS carts.
If anyone is interested in this code, just let me know and I'll send it to you.

I'm also working on a graphical front-end using wxWidgets, but that's far from complete.

Edit:Might I add, so as not to be misunderstood, that this is a patch I just completed.
So, there has been no real bug-testing yet. Use at your own risk, etc..

Is there a Mac OS X version of this program? If not, I'd love the source so I could port it.

As mrhmouse notes I've posted a Mac OS X binary (command line only, for now).

In any case the software is open source, so you can get a source tarball at the site or access the git repo directly.
