This is my finger flexing for the Generative/Procedural music compo. I say finger flexing, because the logic behind it isn't very exciting; each drum hit, voice note etc has a probability whether it will trigger or not. I do some structure with adding or removing elements. Voices are little-scale's excellent YM2413 samples, drums are Roland TR-808 and Yamaha DD-8.

I hope I can enough people interested in this compo. If you are, head over here:

wow. excellent! could you possibly use a peer machine with tweaked parameters to randomly set the volume of each part. that way you could have parts turning on or off without having to sequence them manually. I don't suppose you could upload the bmx somewhere for me to have a play with? big_smile I've never tried generative or procedural music.

it's a beautiful song... for the compilation i'm imagining something less structured though... or at least structuring should be applied through means of a procedure as well.

There's a machine in Buzz called Probability Drummer for this. It doesn't handle very good though, I'll probably end up making a variant in synthedit myself.

this is amazing, wow... what do you use to make this?
