No Doves Fly Here

By 1950 D.A on Feb 1, 2013 7:15 pm

I don't really like to upload anything anymore since I don't really get any response or criticism but fuck it, today is a special occasion, here's my song in a bottle. It's not the greatest of anything, but I at least hope you find it interesting or at least mildly entertaining. At the end of the day we don't make music for others, we make it for ourselves....don't we?'
Made w/ Rhythm entirely this time with LGPT later used for live tracking purposes. If you have ay questions shoot em'

Thanks Faerlight, that may be the first positive response I've gotten; like, ever! Therefore I will offer you two sagely pieces of advice regarding previous posts, seeing that I cannot return feedback on your music as well. 1-lsdj dub step instruments for drops. 2-help regarding your red dmg-001, I've had several problems w/ these; pm if your interested regarding either-cheers!

I liked it very much.

Looking forward to it ! wink

But I agree 100% with you about the state of mind thing. Also, musical knowledge is one thing and can lead to great songs, but it can also clutter it and break any creativity. I'm not considering it being a prerequisite for writing interesting music.

I would also agree with the length. It's a tendency of mine that results from a lack of musical knowledge; therefore my songs are not written with any regards or concern for form, progression, and all the other components that I don't know jack shit about.(lol) That being said what I aim to achieve in my songs is capturing a feeling or state of mind that I'm experiencing while composing; some are stupid long as a direct result, since I end a song when I think it should. If I try to escape from it they always come out too short, too simple, or end to abrupt. In this case, I think it would sound much better to mix live than to sit down and hear on cm, especially when you can see the length bar slugging along haha. I never share my songs from fear of going by unnoticed without criticism, which I believe is what we all need to understand, and develop our styles to being shared amongst a larger audience to enjoy rather than remaining a sloppy hobby. So I greatly thank you for your honesty and opinion Exort, when you do write something I'll look forward to sharing my thoughts on your craft.

But hey, who I am to judge, I've yet to do a chiptune piece myself

Not really my cup of tea but I'd say regardless of that, the song may be a little too long and loses it's focus.
