The Root of the Problem

NOTE: This song was composed in FamiTracker.
My amazingly slow output rears its ugly head again. This time, I'm ditching the expansion chips and going back to my roots (get it? The "root" of the problem? I'm so clever!). Yep, this song is entirely done on the core 2A03 sound chip, so this would play on an NES in its exact, unmodified form. As a much more experienced song writer, I wanted to see how much further I could push the capabilities of this sound chip, which in my earlier songs went vastly underutilized.
This song doesn't have the super-progressive vibe that my other works did (and certainly not like my WIP Into the Maw), but it does contain some 6/4 and 7/4 bars throughout, as well as a smattering of other odd meters. The intro (which I composed waaaaay back in June 2012 for an unreleased demo song) is essentially in free time, though the last third of it is in 4/4. As usual, this song is done in FamiTracker. Enjoy.
