The War and The Tossed Salad

Hello,
This song is a musical depiction of a soldier who has just been terminally wounded and is about to die. His brain can't process what has happened to him just yet, and because of that he goes into a dream-like trance, a world where everything is perfect and he has everything he ever wanted. He enjoys it at first, and is blissfully unaware of his tragic fate, but he soon starts to feel uneasy. He begins to see the world darken and warp around him. Nothing seems right anymore, and as he starts to look for an escape from this mind game, he begins to weaken, he starts to feel dizzy and eventually collapses on the ground. In that moment he snaps back into reality, fully realizing his fate.
His hands tremble as he clutches the bleeding wound in his chest, everything is beginning to darken and chill. But he is not scared, nor is he sad or angry at his fate. Rather he is content with how he lived his life, how he served his country and died for it. There is no darkness in his eyes now, everything has turned to light as his life flashes before his eyes and with a strained whisper he breathes, "Peace."
Content to leave his earthly life behind he gives up the ghost, and ascends into heaven.
