Gamepak Dublin's Profile

Gamepak is a collective of live musicians, visualists, pixel artists, hardware hackers, disc spinners, data jockeys, VJs, designers, circuit benders, & assorted other button pushers, double clickers, and console ninjas. We aim to bring the most enjoyable electronic music of the joypad generation to Dublin clubgoers. With our club nights featuring classic bigscreen games as well as red-hot pixelated retrofuturist sounds from both international guests and local performers, we present an unforgettable night's entertainment. Highscore levels of fun guaranteed.

We also seek to put on participatory, hands-on, "open-source-ethos" workshops relating to such fun things as circuit-bending, live coding, audio device modding and re-purposing games consoles for music-making and unleashing creativity through homebrew apps.

Musically Gamepak promotes includes everything from bitpop and deep dubby chipstep to bleepy 8-bit electronica; gameboy gabba to classic chiptune, with live performances, DJs, visuals & decor, nerdy novelties and much more at our frantic, fun-packed nites.

Gamepak seeks to offer a platform to local, emerging and as-yet unestablished artists and performers, as well as bringing in occasional big-name acts. We're also really keen to collaborate with other like-minded groups and get interested folks involved. So whether yr a budding chip-fiddler or an established knob-twiddler, a capable code-hacker or a menacing noise-maker, Gamepak collective quite possibly wants you to come play with us at one of our club nights. Or come and have a feet-first, hands-on mess with us at one of our workshop sessions..
