Thanks marcb0t. Yeah, well, I actually asked on this forum what to call it since I thought the same thing. Chiptunes should be purely chip. But almost everyone replied that it's not specifically bound to that and well...with acts like "Anamanaguchi" that are called chiptunes....that everything basically goes haha. But I tend to call it "Hybrid Chip" since it's between two worlds and I see a chiptune as something "pure" as well.

But...again, above all, thanks for the compliment and the fact that you like it hahaha smile

I wouldn't personally classify this as a "chiptune". It is more of a "chipstyle" dance track, because you do include some waveforms that were used on the NES (25% PWM). To me, a chiptune is something running off of real hardware with original sound limitations.

However, I really enjoyed the electro-funk style in this track. I think your song shows a lot of fun creativity. It is a style that I tend to gravitate towards, so good job on that! smile

Thanks man! I mainly used the Ploque vst and for the mix I only used Fabfilters ProQ2 (eq) and Pro C (compressor) and some reverb from Logic Pro X.

Thanks again, really cool to hear.

Cheers

Wow! Great mix. big_smile Love that panned winding-up sound in some of the choruses. Super awesome.
