SK-1 TRANCE (CASIO)

By SPASZAKI on Jul 15, 2015 11:55 pm

A casio-core / lo-fi song made in 2010.

Only CASIO SK-1 toy-keyboard sampler has been used.

love this, can i get a copy??

nice tune!

Well, it is an actual SK-1.
I used a loop from Rebirth338 (Roland TB-303) with tempo set especially to synchronize with SK-1 tempo, to get loop working properly in the toy. I used the SK-1's internal sequencer to mix it with the drums.
Then I recorded it 2 or 3 times on PC: one with the sequences, one with additional sample playing something "live" and again some "live" crap but with the tone from SK-1's tones' generator.

PS: Well, synchronizing tempos is hard because after sometime it all gets destroyed anyway; hence the song is short. it ends more less in the same moment when the de-synchronization slowly starts.

I dig it; nice modality. SK-1 is probably my favorite keyboard right now. Did you use the actual onboard programming functions or did you just multitrack in a DAW or whatever?
