My First Famitracker (Mixed)

By cTrix on Apr 4, 2016 7:02 pm

From a project I'm working on called "The Stock NES Monster" .... for which I'll also release the source code and NSF's.

This track is written for stock NES (PAL) with no VRC expansion.  Just plaiiiin Pulse / Tri / Noise / DPCM.   It's recorded out of Famitracker as I don't currently have a PowerPak for Nintendo - cost too much.  Yeah, I went a bit overboard with stereo imaging  / processing but I don't care at this point.  It's a draft version until it's playing back on the real hardware so I might as well lush it up in post a bit!!  (anyone got a spare PowerPak?!)   The is DPCM channel took a lot of optimizing.  Second half has no DPCM at all.

The track is actually called something else - but is in fact my first NES track as I've only been using Famitracker for 3 weeks.  Although, yes, I've been tracking other platforms for 22 odd years so picked it up quite quickly ;-)

Hope you enjoy it!

I admit defeat in every Battle of the Bits contest we ever enter in together. XD

22 years... I don't know if I'll even come close to this in 90 years!

Thanks for posting

cTrix on NES! It's like two tracks in one and sounds amazing!

You dont get 'first tries' much better than this smile Can I be a pain and see what the ftm is like?

It's really impressive how much you fit into just 2a03. Also is the DPCM channel using pitched samples in the first half?
