Yes, and the version that contains a real sid has become harder to find. Aniway, the clone sounds really good too.
The thing with Mssiah is that you can use it as it was a hardware device, and that's what I do, as I'm allergic to software ;-)
In the "sequencer", you have a midi mode that let you trigger every instrument via midi notes, and no screen is needed. But the best thing is with the "monosynth" (and even "bassline"), because you can pilot it completely via midi (notes, control changes, and program changes) and again, you don't need a screen to do that (and its easier and more powerful). This way, you can consider your C64 as a hardware expander.

You're right, but the fact is that I prefer something hardware, Mssiah it sound great but I think it's not my goal. The mode machine's item it looks good to me but there are 2 versions, the first more cheap has a sid clone instead of the real one, this
http://www.newgroove.it/articolo.php?it … CHINES-SID
and then the "limited edition" with the real sid, this other:
http://www.newgroove.it/articolo.php?it … EDITION%22

The cheapest way to work with sids, would be to get a C64 and the Mssiah cartridge, that has a midi in. Works great (that's what I'm using).
Otherwise, you could have a look at the Mode Machine Sid. It is built like a Xoxbox, but with sids (2 synth channels & 1 wavetable drum channel). It is quite expansive for the moment, but far cheaper than a Sidstation. In France, we can get it brand new for 440€. I think this is the best solution.
