			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Does anyone have a working ROM of High Hopes? The one on Pouet doesn&#039;t seem to run in any emulator I&#039;ve tried.</p><p>Edit: nevermind. The header incorrectly specifies NTSC instead of PAL. If I manually override the emulator to PAL it works fine. Kinda disappointed by how the roto-zoom was implemented (it&#039;s just a page-flip animation).</p>]]></content>

That&#039;s why you&#039;re seeing a recurring theme starfields and macro-pixels. Timing raster effects is also difficult because there&#039;s no raster (per-line) interrupt, so you have to either busy-wait or abuse the DMC (sample playback) interrupt which iirc is not accurate enough to hit every line perfectly. Apart from that, the C64&#039;s video hardware is more interestnig for demo effects and it was already out before the NES. It might also be that people didn&#039;t feel like bothering with the NES back in the &#039;80s/&#039;90s because of the copy protection, and because NES was seen as simply a game console and not a computer.</p>]]></content>

I don&#039;t know if anybody posted it since I have flash disabled, but there is an NES demo &quot;greeting card/invitation&quot; from which Chibitech&#039;s Moe Moe Kyunstep Part I originated. I&#039;m pretty sure the rom I downloaded was posted here once upon a time.</p><p>Edit: But I guess that wouldn&#039;t really count as a technical demo?</p>]]></content>
