For sure it's tricky! And when using such a small arduino as Nano it gets hard to squeeze everything to their own places.

I think I found a one problem though. When I start a track in FL studio, it seems like arduinoboy resets first and then starts to play the song. Otherwise I have been really happy about it.

Maybe I just have to rebuild everything again...

E: After checking Trash80's schematic I think I found where the problem lies. I forgot to connect one pin from the isolator! big_smile I feels so stupid right now.

HOWEVER, when I press play or stop, DMG makes really faint squeaking sound. And when I add C5 I get (again, faint) knocking sound. No matter which mode I am using these sounds appear.

Make sure you aren't trying to play midi notes that are outside of MGB's range. Test with a C5 or something.

I don't imagine your diode is to blame. To my knowledge those two diodes are basically equivalent.

I followed 2PLAYER's guide with DMG-07's cable. I'll recheck my wiring when I get back to home!

Whoa, that was quick answer!

And yah, DMG is fine, I have tested arduinoboy with two different DMGs, no difference.

And I think I'm using right channel (arduinoboy supports channels 1-4 right?) and I have tried all possible modes.

This is my first thing with MIDI, so I might be missing something obvious.

Yesterday I built my first arduinoboy! It looks nice and stuff, but I can't get it to work. I've been trying to send notes through FL studio's MIDI out but all I get is arduinoboy's LEDs blinking, but DMG with mGB is silent. I have checked my solderings but I don't find any shorts or similar. Can someone please help me with this one?

As a side note, I used 1N918 diode instead of 1N914. Could that be the reason why it isn't working properly?
