Edit: the settings youve described are exactly what I did on my recent noise album, I even included a pdf in the download thats very similar to your write up, for once I was ahead of you on something!

It wasnt until the whole click thing was resolved (thanks nitro) that it made sense to look at single cycle waveforms.
