Even if they didn't want to mess with config files because they were extremely bad at using text editors or something, it takes nearly zero effort to just hitting enter or escape.

seconding this, I have no real problem with the UI, I don't mind the face, and the loadup noise isn't annoying because when I have it open, it'll be for hours

or would be if i could use it, as I've said my beef is with the pattern editor

Like when I switch to c64 mode make it have the little commodore logo in that little foreheader

Except for little things like not having a keyboard shortcut for opening/loading a song, and not having an interpolate for effect parameters.
