i've done something similar before . have pu1 panned left pu2 panned right and wav bass centered. that way the overall sound isn't too clunky and there is air for each channel to breath. you will have to mess with various different sounds in each channel to make it sound good and unfortunately it does use up 3 channels

sounds like this if done right (00.31) https://soundcloud.com/je-mappelle/make-me-famous

I use wave as a sub for pulse, basically another oscillator. They don't need to sound like the same instrument in order to get the illusion of a constant wave bass. Example:

https://soundcloud.com/possibly-a-fake- … pid-remake

After the drop on this one I'm using both pulse channels and the wave channel for bass. I'm using a wave kick as well as a sampled snare, but the bass pretty much sounds like it's playing at the same time as the kick due to some volume tricks in each channel.

when i layer the two, I often us the pulse as a echoed instrument, so that way the pulse is doing the enveloped dynamics, and the wav does the bass and full sound. This also usually frees up enough space to also double duty the pulse as a percussion insturment.

Hi,

back with some noob LSDJ metaphisics...

i've spent looong introspective times to figure out weather I would use Wav chan for kicks or bass, or both... and well, I love Wav bass, but cannot honestly live without wave kicks and Wave/noise snares, so eventually gave priority to them.

the 3/3 ticks trick helps a lot, but also prevent from doing long bended notes on bass

my solution would be to keep root notes on wave (so I can got below octave3) and the rest of the bass line on PU1...

do you guys have any ideas, or exemple to give the illusion that wave and pulse Bass would belong to almost ''the same instrument'' ?

that is, making a very round PU1 bass that could fit into a deep sine wave ?

I've tried with P commands, envelope tables... but do not quite find what I want on this PU1 thing...

2 (non chiptunes) attemps we've done this summer (not quite satisfied though), but we're still searching (sorry for the minimalism of progs):

un petit coin de paradis de son secret

https://app.box.com/s/vfb6o7xj7zan22n12gum
