yeah, the name did originate that way though (especially in regards to chip stuff) the modern genre has expanded well beyond that because there are lots of new ways to achieve similar results smile

All this time I was thinking dub was a style of slower reggae that involved dubbing, haha. I thought the delay was using dubbing techniques or something, idk. But anyway, thanks. I at least knew it was reggae-like. lol. Somebody released a reggaedubhop chip thing in 2012, iirc.
