Toad is extremely limited but it&#039;s also free and quite simple, so give it a shot if you like the sound. Don&#039;t worry about whether the technology behind it is cool or not.</p><br /><br /><p><em>(Full disclosure, I uninstalled Toad pretty quickly after trying it out because I didn&#039;t personally like the sound.)</em></p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Are you perhaps struggling with programming interesting &amp; emotive patterns? Drum tracks require a conscious effort to produce. I struggle with this myself. I&#039;ve had mixed success with critically listening to mainstream music and simply trying to copycat the exact same patterns, fills, etc. After I&#039;ve laid down the drums, I can start to jam on top.</p>]]></content>

There are almost an infinite number of free drum samples available online, Is there a reason you don&#039;t want to use samples?</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Hey friends!</p><p>I&#039;ve been making chiptunes for a little over a year, and somehow I still haven&#039;t figured out how to get good percussion for my music. I use OpenMPT to make the music, and the two VSTs that get the most use are tb_triforce and basic65.</p><p>I&#039;ve tried to use VSTs made specifically for percussion, but they either crash OpenMPT or they don&#039;t give me the sound I want. Can anybody help me?</p>]]></content>
