I haven't messed around with it yet, but I know others have had success with it.

Hey, I'm not really sure where to post this, I'm pretty new to everything. I hope this isn't in the wrong place. I'm just starting out and I want to learn how to imitate/play the Opening Stage from Megaman X ( https://youtu.be/tBWl9p0fH28?t=1m54s ) to help teach myself how to make chiptunes. I have a DAW (ableton) and a MIDI keyboard but I'm not sure whether to use the DAW or a tracker, and I'm not sure which plugin/tracker/etc... to use so that I can make a tune that actually SOUNDS like the original track. I'm sorry if this is too vague, I'm honestly not quite sure what I'm even looking for, or what to google. Any pointing in the right direction would be appreciated!

edit: I know the track itself is probably pretty complex for a complete noob, but even if I could play just a part of the instruments it would really help. I'm mostly concerned with learning how to match the sounds on my end to the one in the track.
