After using a single Yamaha synth and XG technology on the previous album (Rassemblement), this new album is more radical, featuring Roland's iconic MT-32 sound module from 1987, which was the only instrument used to produce all the music. This expander, which is a real little programmable synthesiser, is less powerful than the legendary D-50, but on the other hand has real multitimbrality, allowing several instruments to be played at the same time, which the D-50 couldn't do.

https://garvalf.bandcamp.com/album/mt-3 … -lointains

The basic sounds of the MT-32 were used on all the tracks, with the exception of tracks 10, 15 and 16, which benefited from a custom editing of the sounds.

Not all these tracks were originally intended for this album, I had composed a few for the battleofthebits.com website (this type of "competition" encourages you to work on new music and finish it on time), but also for linuxmao.org

01) Lights and woods : MT-32 https://battleofthebits.com/arena/Entry … ods/46184/
02) Road to Beach Paradise : Yamaha QY-100 https://soundcloud.com/garvalf/road-to-beach-paradise
03) Sharks ahead : Roland SC-55 https://battleofthebits.com/arena/Entry … ead/72431/
04) Zero Gravity : MT-32 https://battleofthebits.com/arena/Entry … ity/47441/
05) The abandoned Factory : MT-32 https://battleofthebits.com/arena/Entry … ory/31425/
06) Le cercle des fées : Yamaha XG, unpublished
07) Time and Trees : MT-32, unpublished
08) Sa coupe vide : MT-32 / Atari ST : https://battleofthebits.com/arena/Entry … ide/58458/
09) Night Walk : MT-32 https://battleofthebits.com/arena/Entry … alk/51721/
10) Back into the old Factory : MT-32 (custom) : https://battleofthebits.com/arena/Entry … ory/34204/
11) Nuages d'acier : composed with the band Nostronaut (Steel Clouds, about 1/3 of the riffs and melodies), adapted into "synthwave" with LMMS, then https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqeuCMTbTLc
12) Chilling out : MT-32 + D-110 : https://battleofthebits.com/arena/Entry … out/35558/
13) Nuit tropicale : MT-32 / Atari ST : https://soundcloud.com/memento-somniare/nuit-tropicale
14) Entering Aldebaran : VST SQ8L (emulation of Ensoniq's SQ80) + LMMS, for a synthwave sound https://battleofthebits.com/arena/Entry … ran/34754/
15) Roads, wet roads : MT-32 (custom) https://battleofthebits.com/arena/Entry … ads/67541/
16) Espaces lointains : MT-32 (custom), unpublished
