Get a mouse PC > C64 converter off Amiga kit or similar. If you are using seq, you def need it!

You'll be wanting a Joystick at the least though, I should say. That's the default device for changing values.
The mouse is handy for the sequencer (as mentioned by herr_prof) but you can use a joystick instead if you need to. It's just not as easy or precise.

from what i've seen, it at least makes it far easier to use- a mouse or joystick is key for efficient MSSIAH use.

alright. don't yell if this is a dumb question.

I just got mssiah and I was wondering if you need a mouse to operate it. I haven't had a chance to check out the program so I dont really know.

I was going to use it in conjunction with ableton so I wasn't sure if you needed anything to interact with the mssiah interface from the c64 or if you could just do it all from ableton.
