I am trying to make an LSDJ keyboard using a link cable that doesn't have the +5v line. I have been told that you can use your own power supply but i don't know how i would connect it.

If i connect the positive side of my power supply to the +5v pin, where do i connect the negative side?

Ive read quite a few tutorials and none of them seem to deal with this specifically.
