Thanks for the feedback guys!  "Overplaying" the fakebit aspect can be blamed entirely on my pal Inverse Phase, who kept trying to convince me to do authentic, limited polyphony music   (He was gonna do a deconstruct remix, but had too much going on sadly).  I got such a kick out of his chiptune purity that I kind of implemented it into the description, haha.  Nothing defensive, just having fun, that's what it's all about!

Being #1 on Bandcamp for a short while blew my mind, too.  It was short-lived, but it always makes me happy to see VGM-related music beat out mainstream stuff.

I think it is a bit weird playing on the fact that it is fakebit .. It is almost like a defensive tactic in fear of being called out... I think this is just as much a chip release as anything else and dislike the thought that the chip scene is seen as a bunch of elitist purists

Impostor Nostalgia is the debut album by video game music composer Big Giant Circles.
