Turns out there's a hidden tab in the control panel's sound devices settings that only appears when the line-in is connected. It was noise cancelling, but not from audacity.

Some of the higher frequencies still get through sometimes. I checked my recording settings and I found nothing on cancelling noise, Could you guys help me out?
