All three musical acts have members from NYC, which presents a big transportation issue. More importantly, you all know that 8static is totally DIY - and bringing a sound system and drum kit from unplowed South and Northeast Philly is almost impossible right now! All scheduled artists from this month will be worked into lineups for the next few months, so you’ll see them soon!

Now, for some good news - we were going to announce this tonight at the show, so here goes: On March 13th we are having a totally free 8static! That’s right, FREE! Bring all your friends who are new to chip and/or too cheap to usually show up! Consider it our way of saying THANK YOU for your continued support of 8static and our extremely successful Kickstarter campaign (which isn’t over yet, hint hint). We’re gonna have our new sound system and projector ready to go for this special event! This show will feature minusbaby from NYC, and Philly’s own Ro-Bear, Chipocrite, and enso! Our pre-show event will be a really cool thing hosted by Geekadelphia that I can’t talk about yet! More info on that soon!

It'll be streaming, so check out 8static.com for the link about the time of the show.. and enso is right, Shari from Void Vision has been using trackers for years, so she re-did all their backing tracks in LSDJ for their chip shows. Besides that they use vintage synths and drum machines, etc.

They'll have a song on the upcoming Philly chip compilation, available to Kickstarter donaters for just $10! wink

They are pretty dope. They sound like a mix of Depeche Mode circa 81' (Vince Clarke era), mid 80's Information Society (pre-debut album), and missing persons. I wonder what chip devices they mix in there...anyone know?
