Yes, I know that each channel is monophonic but the way it works on my device is kind of "broken", since I need to release the first key BEFORE pressing a second key for normal operation (otherwise the second note will stop when I release the first key and this is not how monophonic mode usually works). This makes it unsuitable for live playing (unless I use a method for polyphonic playing like genajam or the 2xAA editor).

Example (how it works for me now):
I press the C4 key and the note C4 starts (ok)
I then press the D4 key and note D4 starts and C4 stops (ok)
If I now release the C4 key, note D4 stops (NOT ok, D4 should continue playing until I release the D4 key, this is how it normally works on monophonic synths)

Hi, I got hold of an old genMDM but I'm having a small problem with it. Basically when I press a key on my MIDI keyboard, a note plays on the Mega Drive, if I then press another key, that note will be played, BUT if I now release the first key, the second note will stop, so there is some problem how MIDI is handled here. Is this normal, or do I have a defective device? I have tried firmware versions 1.02 and 1.03 with the same result.

OK, so the Genajam is amazing! It seems to respond to every single midi channel though, so is going haywire in my studio with all the note data being fired to other kit. Not sure if I missed something in setup. Anyone any ideas?

I couldn't see a Genajam thread, so posted here. Great work Catskull and Jamatar! Cheers.
