I tried this over a year ago. It should be possible.

I contemplated making custom circuit boards to use as an adapter, because soldering to the ribbon cable or the socket isn't easy. Really only possible by bending the pins in opposite directions.

I'd like to try it again. Anyone got a backlit SP with a (semi) broken LCD to spare?

A friend of mine had one modded for him several years ago - when the GBA was still Nintendo's current console and the Afterburner company was quite new - and certainly from the brief time I've spent with his console, it looks like a backlight

Certainly an extremely good frontlight anyway! Nice and even and bright.

You can only frontlight and AGB-001.
You need to use the frontlight unit from an AGS-001. AGS-101 will not work as it is a backlight.

This is a time consuming mod and can be expensive as you need to cannibalize an Advance SP.
