]]> https://chipmusic.org/SKGB 2012-02-20T16:09:34Z https://chipmusic.org/forums/post/90357/#p90357 <![CDATA[Re: New guy seeking answers about guitar and chip combinations.]]> It really is all about trial and error.  I tend to get the best results when I let the guitar fill out the mix or accent the chip.  I have the best luck when I keep the chip arrangements a little lighter to leave room for the guitar in the mix.  But I'm usually doing acoustic guitar and it seems to take a little more work to get the mix sounding nice.

Just experiment.

As most of these guys are saying just do you thing man. A fried of mine does chiptune base then songs over it and will through guitar in here or there. Find your sound and run with it dude! i change mine around between songs with distortion / reverb / drive, etc.

typically let the song dictate the guitar.

Also listen to known good examples of chip+guitar, but don't feel like you need to copy their lead. You'll hear a lot of different ways to approach the idea.
