Try the MDA Talkbox over at http://mda.smartelectronix.com/.
Nico from Seal of Quality pointed me that way. I tried it briefly but opted for hardware vocoding.

If you have some change to throw around, try the EHX Iron Lung or V256.
I use the V256 and swear by it.

Also - bear in mind that your carrier signal (the instrument doing the vocoding) is the wild card. Chords sound great. Try organ / warmer sounds for the UDA style. A lot of it is experimenting.

I'm just wondering if someone can help with maybe a plugin they use or something. the sound I'm trying to achieve is like the vocals from Unicorn Dream Attack's Love Bits album.
