So I'm thinking about buying a PO-128 Mega Man, because I really like the idea to get a production going in minutes, without firing up Famitracker.

However, is it powerful/versatile enough to get an entire production done on it (excluding any form of mastering)? If anyone of you got one, I'd love to hear some feedback .

I am trying to find a midi controller that has the possibility to store sets of presets on the controller itself. In the best of possible worlds it should also have programmable LCD screens for each knob ( like native instruments Komplette. NI dont have memory.
The point is to map different sets of presets for Commodore, Sega, Amiga and so on. Without having to use s computer during playing

How's it going everyone. Haven't posted in a while.  I moved to Taiwan and have been living here for a year now.

I currently have a big screen TV with A/V inputs as well as a few other connections. I hooked up my NES and Super Famicom and they work, it's just that the screen resolution isn't great. Everything is pretty muddled. I'm not expecting anything stellar because it isn't a CRT. I currently don't have any space for a CRT at the moment, and I'm trying to find a better solution to my resolution issue.

I'm went through a ton of scenarios of what I could do, from RGB mods to getting a Framemeister.

I've come to the conclusion that getting a Retron 5 would be a good, one stop solution to play my NES/Famicom/Super Famicom/SNES carts instead of doing individual mods to each console for better video output.

Long story short, I wanted to know if LSDj will work via a Super Gameboy in the Retron 5. I will prosound mod the SGB.

I noticed they come with either a YM2149 or AY-3 chip... and I'm not really sure what the difference is, or if it's worth getting both.

Anybody else using a Polyend Tracker? I got one a month or so ago, and really like it a lot. There's a few bugs with the software, including the stem export which means it still needs improvement, but overall it's far better and more inspirational than the Digitakt was (for me at least).

Initially I was a bit unimpressed with the FX available - especially the glide, as it seemed to be pretty under-powered/counter-intuitive. However, one thing I found recently was the 'Roll' effect, which lets you do crazy things which I hadn't expected. I need to spend some more time digging into it. Let me know if you have any tips or features you've been making use of that are worth checking out.

Hey everyone, a while ago I picked up an Alesis midiverb ii at a local thrift store, and I can’t seem to get it to work properly. It’s mix knob seems to be creating a lot of noise, and I read somewhere that this might be because I’m plug in the guitar directly into the alesis instead of using a preamp to get the gain lower, therefore less noise. Ive read a lot of stuff from different places but I can’t seem to get it to work I haven’t tried using a preamp yet but when I plug the guitar in, the green signal LED doesn’t want to turn on no matter how high I turn the input knob up. I can get sound to come through to my amp but none of the effects ever work and it just seems to work like a crappy amplifier.

This thing cost me around two dollars and I know how valuable it is so I’d really like to get it working

I was thinking of making a diy kit that mimics the gameboy's 4 sound channels. Either a series of modules, or one huge module including two Pulse VCO's, a noise generator and, of course, an 8 bit sample player.
Aside from the WAV module which would use a DAC, the modules would be entirely analog. I am sort of torn between making the modules "closely" authentic or "more" analog. I would incorporate quantizers to make inputs "stepped" like the GB's digital registers are, but some of the "stepping" is incredibly small such as the pulse width of each pulse channel or the WAV's volume playback. And there are also no filter to speak of, so I am unsure what to add or overlook.

Pulse 1 & 2 Modules:

Should it be one module, or 4+ modules? What kind of user interfaces a do you prefer in a live synth?
Minimal inputs, or extras like Exponential/Linear Frequency modulation?
Any filters/ring mods/ wave shapers, or leave it authentic?
Stereo...?

To be so apparently cool there's little to no info on this kit/thing.  Does anybody have hands on experience with it?
