I work in the ER of a Level 1 trauma hospital here in NYC.  Admittedly, I don't like a lot of the people there but the work pays well and I get to see a lot of patients and hear a lot of stories that end up in the news, so while the job can be aggravating, it's also rather entertaining, for what its worth. 

that being said, because the work--especially the environment created by my coworkers--can be rather poisonous at times, I've begun working on the side as a blogger, and am slowly building up my body of work and my resume so I can change careers into a professional social media position.  It's somewhat difficult and time consuming, especially as a college drop out, but I figure if I can go from animation to emergency healthcare as a drop out, I can transition from healthcare to social media management, as well.

Consider any uncorrected mistakes am omage to chip thrash.

At the moment, I work in a hospital laboratory preparing blood samples for analysis. My last day is tomorrow.

Cook at a bar and grill, it pays pretty good considering i get payed as much as plenty of people just joining the workforce out of college.

Have other people pay the bills.

Yeah, I've seen that a lot. "Luckily" my positions have always been long term, however you can't stop studios just going POP either. That's happened 3 times to me

EA have just done this. Made a load of people redundant last week, then announced the opening of DICE LA this week with multiple vacancies.

Jesus. Thought I was the only one doing that. Lube costs too much to make the price worth it though. Gonna have to pick up something else, then.

Aside from that I'm in art school. Pretentious artists making pretentious art. It's pretty chill.

Haha yup. Been working in gaming for ~15 years now and it's always the same thing... Company over hires to meet deadlines, then fires more people than it should a month after launch, then rehires too many people again on the next project.

That's why I am presently giving handjobs in the alley behind my building.

To those who are unemployed at the moment, it sucks I know. Been there a number of times through redundancy. The games industry is notorious for it. The thing you have to do is try not to let it get you down. Something will come up, but likely when you least expect it, so try to make the best use of the time you have at the moment - don't waste it away....

What I didn't put is that I'm 40.... now that makes me feel quite bad as I am about 17 inside
