Remove the mod and check EVERY point where you soldered to. It sounds like there could be a short where-in the circuit is drawing too much power.

I wired the original headphone jack in my DMG for postpot prosound and it works fine for a few minutes then just turns off. The battery light stays on, but the  system shuts off just like I flipped the power switch. Any ideas?
