I think the "omg happy nintendo tunes" phase is over and musicians are starting to use their chip instruments as parts of a bigger whole rather than as the centerpiece of their music. Or at least that's what I've been doing lately; LSDJ for drums and some melodies, then guitars run through five or six distortion pedals and all that good stuff.

to be honest, from what i've heard from recent chip releases and shit, i think Beastmode is currently the most influential chip artist even tho he's not around. even if u dont know who he is, u prolly are influenced by someone who tried to work on his tip. i say we all try and crowdfund a ton of money to make his french canadian ass put out a full length chip record asap.
