somatech says:
Nice update on this: Love the possibility of audio sampler with the 12bit 25khz DACs.

"Michael has been working very hard adding more and more features to the firmware of the Synthino XM, and because we decided to go Open Source many of you will have the pleasure of seeing the code and even hacking it if you like. The hardware design will also be Open Source which will allow for accessories and totally new functionality and the best part is that the main board (bottom board) of the Synthino XM can simply be plugged into the new top board and loaded with new firmware. Completely reusable and upgradable.

We ask you, what would you want the Synthino XM to do? Leave us a comment, post to our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/synthinosynthesizer), tweet with #synthino, or just email us at info@synthino.com.

Some of our ideas include, top board with control voltage (CV) connections for modular gear, Eurorack format top board, and audio sampler.

We also want to thank each and everyone of you who has contributed so far! We are almost 70% funded and that feels great! Please keep spreading the word. --Alex and Michael"

somatech says:
Ive just backed this and wanted to share it around.

Its 5-note polyphonic synthesizer with 4-track sequencer, ADSR envelope, LFO, filter, MIDI, and MIDI over USB. Also has some lofi drum samples.

In the video it sounds like it has a nice vintage digital sound and Soundcloud clips show off more of a chip tune sound? Probably due to the 12bit 25khz DACs.

Thought some people might be interested in this.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sy … and-groove
