oxygenfad says:
This is cheesy advice but where your at now, you really should be studying Kurt's song writing. It's perfect and easy to learn from for intermediate/beginners. I think it's a style the would most match where you are now. In the song you posted I see that there is some "structure" but you need to tune it up a little. You should study some Nirvana, get an idea of when to change the parts, how to move the song forward. If I were you, I wouldn't referencing other chiptune guys until you get these basics down. You'll be way a head of where you are now if you spent 2 weeks doing this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pTXVjroApo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vabnZ9-ex7o
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7TPnH5emFg

cheers

But anyway.

I'll try those things out! I did change it slightly in the section after the build up, but it is hard to notice. I'll try to change it though by maybe slowing the melody down slightly in sections or doing some other changes to it like you suggested.

Noba says:
So I finally decided to get back into chiptune music, and I've made this song which I need constructive criticism on.
https://clyp.it/p2unooxb
Main point I need opinions on:
General structure of the song
Sounds used
I think it's too repetetive, but I'm not sure what I can do to change that
And anything else you can think of.

(Inb4 that person who said in the pinned post no one would read it ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))
