Its not part of AI. There's an AI of Illinois which is separate from my school and part of that group. It's connected to the Art Institute of Chicago museum. Or rather I should say the museum is grew out of the school, thus the very weird wordage of "School of the."

man, I wish the AI here had those classes.

where do i sign up?

This part of the body of an email i just received for my elective class: Hardware Hacking

...And please bring the following supplies so we can start right up on our
first projects:

1) A "raw" loudspeaker or 2. This means not in a  speaker cabinet, just
the speaker.  (If you bring one in a box you will have to rip it out in
class.)

2) Two 9-volt batteries

3) A piece of rusty or corroded metal.

4) A portable, battery-powered radio or boombox, with appropriate
batteries.  Make sure it works! It should be cheap enough that you
won’t be too angry if it never works again.  The AM band is more
important than FM, but it doesn’t matter if the radio picks up both. 
It should have analog tuning (i.e., a dial) rather than digital presets
or scan buttons.  Larger radios are easier to work with than tiny ones,
and older ones always sound better than new ones.  It should have a
built-in speaker, not just a headphone jack.  And most importantly: IT
MUST BE BATTERY POWERED!  Beware: an alarm clock radio with a built-in
“backup battery” is not suitable, since it requires AC power to
function as a radio.

5) Don't forget those batteries for the radio!
